Terms of Use
Effective date: TODO — set on attorney sign-off
The information and answers on this site are general and educational. They are not legal advice, and using this site — including the chat and the self-assessment — does not create an attorney–client relationship. An attorney–client relationship with Jia Law Group P.C. is formed only by a signed engagement agreement.
1. What this site is
Jia Law Group offers general U.S. immigration information, AI-assisted answers to common questions, attorney-verified reference content, a free self-assessment, and a way to request a paid consultation or appointment with an attorney. It is an information and intake service — not a substitute for advice about your specific situation.
2. Not legal advice; no attorney–client relationship
Nothing on this site is legal advice, and no attorney–client relationship is created by using it, by receiving an AI-assisted answer, or by submitting the self-assessment. Do not act — or decline to act — on anything here without advice from a licensed attorney about your own facts. Please do not send confidential case details until a signed engagement is in place; information sent before then may not be treated as confidential.
3. The self-assessment
The self-assessment is an automated read of the LinkedIn profile or résumé you submit, compared against published criteria for certain visa categories. It is generated by software, it can be incomplete or wrong, and it is not an eligibility determination, a prediction of any outcome, or advice about whether to file. Only a licensed attorney reviewing your full circumstances can assess your options.
4. AI-assisted answers
Answers from the chat are produced with the help of an AI model and are labeled where they appear. They may be outdated or inaccurate. Answers an attorney has reviewed carry a dated verified badge; that badge means the general information was checked, not that anyone reviewed your specific situation.
5. Accounts
If you create a member account, you agree to give accurate information, keep your password secure, and take responsibility for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You may close your account at any time.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to submit information you have no right to share;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the site, or evade its usage limits or bot protection;
- attempt to probe, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the site or its security;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation.
7. Memberships, consultations, and payments
Where a membership or subscription is offered, it provides access to general information and features — not legal representation. Any consultation or legal service is a separate transaction with its own engagement and fee terms, agreed before the work begins. Fees, features, and availability may change; any change applies going forward.
8. Intellectual property
The site and its content are owned by Jia Law Group P.C. or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable license to use the site for its intended purpose. Content you submit stays yours; you grant us permission to use it as needed to operate the site and respond to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Third-party services and links
The site relies on third-party providers and may link to outside sites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third parties, and their terms and privacy policies govern your use of their services.
10. Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the site or its answers will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jia Law Group P.C. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on information provided through the site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. This governs use of the website and does not itself create any client engagement.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date above, and your continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.
