Jia Law Group
O-1 & EB-1A · Extraordinary Ability

For people at the top of their field.

The O-1 visa and the EB-1A green card are built for the same rare profile: sustained recognition for work that stands out. If that might be you, the fastest way to find out is to see what the public record already shows.

  • A free, automated read of your public record — no email to start.
  • Scored against the O-1A, O-1B and EB-1A criteria, with a source behind every finding.
  • A licensed Jia Law Group attorney when your case gets specific.
Free eligibility read

A two-to-four-minute automated read. No email to start.

This is an automated read of what is publicly findable about you, not legal advice, and no attorney has seen it. It cannot tell you whether a petition would be approved — that is a judgement on a whole record, made by USCIS.

Two doors, one profile

O-1 — the working visa

A temporary work visa for people of extraordinary ability. Two tracks: O-1A for the sciences, education, business and athletics, and O-1B for the arts and for extraordinary achievement in film and television. A U.S. employer or agent files the petition, and it is granted for a specific body of work — there is no annual cap.

EB-1A — the green card

A first-preference employment-based path to permanent residence for those with extraordinary ability. Its signature feature: you can self-petition. No employer, no job offer, and no labor certification — you file on the strength of your own record.

How you qualify

In most cases you qualify by meeting at least three of the criteria below — and each category counts them a little differently (EB-1A lists ten, O-1A eight, O-1B a version written for the arts). A single, top international honor can carry a case on its own. Either way, three is a threshold, not the whole test — what decides a case is your record as a whole.

Start on your own, honestly

The free read is a machine's read of what is public — labeled as exactly that. It cannot approve a petition; it shows you where your record already speaks.

A licensed attorney when it counts

When your situation gets specific, a licensed attorney on our team takes it from here — starting with the parts of your record no search will find.

Run the free read on your own, or go straight to a licensed attorney on our team. Either way it is Jia Law Group behind it — though only a signed engagement makes us your attorneys.
